It’s tough because most of these articles spec out cars and place them into SCCA classes but we have to watch the CRS class restrictions too. Civic and Sentra = parts availability, cost effectiveness, and good power to weight ratio

I think that a sentra or civic would be completely and perfectly fine. it would be cool to get a 'cool' car, but it doesn't really matter at our entry point, since it focuses so much on the team. keeping the car maintained, going in the right direction and with at least 2 wheels on the ground will take plenty of resources, which we need to manage very very economically. honda and nissan would do the job apparently perfectly.
